Description
There’s a lot to say about this car, so I hope you can appreciate having all of the details. First off, the car starts up and runs just fine; I wouldn’t be surprised if it runs for tens of thousands more miles. However, here are the bigger issues: 1. The car burns oil. You should regularly check and top off oil if you plan to leave this unaddressed. The car will come with a quart of oil and a funnel included. 2. When going fast (80+ mph) uphill, the transmission slips sometimes when accelerating and downshifting. This should never happen (and has never happened) during everyday operation. 3. The catalytic converter is missing (was stolen) and has been replaced with a straight pipe to the muffler. This is legal for WA state emissions purposes due to the car’s age, but the check engine light is on as a result. 4. The left side mirror is dislodged from the mechanism. It is held in place with duct tape currently. 5. There may be an issue with the power steering (likely a power steering pump issue). The car screeches when turning sharply right after starting, but the problem goes away after a minute or two of running. The screeching comes with some steering resistance. It is not due to lack of steering fluid. Now, here are the minor issues: 1. The back right door has power door lock issues and the power door lock generally does not work for that door. 2. There is one rock chip in the windshield that has not been treated, about 1cm in diameter. It has not grown in over a year of driving. 3. The driver’s seat does not recline forward properly; there is an issue with the mechanism. You can pull manually while pressing the button to adjust it, it’s just a bit inconvenient. 4. The radio does not work because it needs to be reset. This will require pulling the radio out and reading the code to reset it. ————— The car has strong maintenance records over the period of time I have owned it; I have kept everything. It also has the original driver manuals and books from the original dealership purchase in 2000 (I am not the original owner). The car feels nice to drive and doesn’t make any odd noises other than described above. The sunroof and windows work well. It has the spare tire and some of the tools in the trunk that came in the car. The alternator was replaced somewhat recently, and the battery is relatively new too. Overall, I love this car and it will suck to let it go, but I’ll be happy to give it a new home. The car has been washed but still needs to be vacuumed.
